What is Hypoallergenic Food?

When we offer basic components such as protein, fat, vitamins, and minerals — all essential in the nutrition of living beings — to our pets, their metabolism may sometimes react unexpectedly. Some of these reactions are defined as ´allergies. Allergic reactions can manifest themselves with a wide variety of symptoms such as skin rashes, weakening of the fur structure, loss of appetite, visual impairment, weakening of the immune system and becoming vulnerable to certain diseases.

We call some components that cause these symptoms “allergens” or “allergic substances”. Foods in which such substances are reduced as much as possible or completely removed are called “hypoallergenic”. Hypoallergenic foods are of great importance, especially for pets with sensitive bodies or a history of allergic reactions in the past.
